Community Projects

"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead".

James 2:17

Our church as part of the community has a responsibility to care, love, support, encourage, and get involved with activities in the area. We want to show the love and care of Jesus, through Prison ministries, helping the homeless, and encouraging healthy living, as well as telling people the good news about what Jesus has done for them.

On this section of our website, you can find information on the various projects and activities we are involved in.  If you are interested, why not come along and see for yourself.

The projects we are involved in at the moment include the following.  Click on the headings for more information.

St Pauls Carnival Health Hub

On Saturday 7th July, the church opened its doors to provide much needed health support, respite and care for the thousands of visitors to the St Pauls Carnival, which goes right past the church.

See a few photos from the event below, and in the Photo Album.

Bristol Life Colours Health Seminar and Expo

This year, on Saturday 9th June, we organised a Life Colours seminar by renowned Healthy Lifestyle expert, Dr Chidi Ngwaba.  You can read the report on the event, and view associated photos of the event in the Photo Album.

One of the special guest speakers at the event, was local Councillor for the Ashley Ward, Dr Carole Johnson.  Please see the post she wrote on her website about the day, at http://carole-johnson.co.uk/community-church-and-health-seminar/.

Free Health Checks and Advice

We run regular Health Expo's, where we offer free blood pressure checks, BMI measurement, advice on diet, and give demonstrations of healthier eating.  We also work in partnership with Bristol City Public Health, and other community organisations.

Supporting the Homeless Project

This includes providing shelter, and feeding and providing basic necessities for the homeless in the area.

Read the report on our participation in the recent Bristol Winter Night Shelter, in the News section.

Prison Visits

We attend two local prisons on a regular basis. We organise the worship services and present uplifting musical items.

Community Plans for 2018

We are laying out our plans for the year, using the theme and acronym of RECONNECT.

See this presentation document, for more information.

Additional details for each project will be made available in due course.
